Gas-fired power stations in the UK

49 gas-fired power stations with a combined 32,090 MW of installed capacity, from the UK government's register of power stations (DESNZ, DUKES table 5.11) and Octary's own records. Open any station for its capacity, operator, location map, nearby stations and source.

Wind, solar and hydro sites have their own sections: wind farms, solar farms and hydro and pumped storage.

Gas-fired power stations burn natural gas. Combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plants reuse exhaust heat to raise steam for a second turbine, making them more efficient than single-cycle (open-cycle) gas turbines, which are used mainly for short peaks in demand.
