How much electricity?

Convert a published capacity into an annual scenario. Choose the right capacity definition before comparing projects.

Example: 100 MW at 80% utilisation for 8,760 hours = 700.8 GWh/year.

The initial values are illustration assumptions. A 365-day year is used; actual operation, phasing, outage periods and workload determine consumption.

Keep the comparison honest

If 100 MW is IT capacity and the assumed PUE is 1.2, full facility capacity is 120 MW. At 80% utilisation, the scenario is 96 MW average and 840.96 GWh/year.

A 400 MVA reservation with an assumed power factor of 0.95 corresponds to 380 MW real power. That is a conversion under an assumption, not confirmation of the capacity delivered to a specific site.

To compare with renewable output, use measured annual GWh or a clearly stated generation scenario. Matching installed MW does not establish a continuous electricity supply. Battery duration depends on MWh as well as MW.
